A 28-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling in Kukatpally police limits.

The deceased, C Monika, took the extreme step at her residence in Kukatpally on Friday night. The reasons that led her to suicide are yet to be ascertained.

In another case, B Rajesh, 22, succumbed to the burn injuries which he suffered on January 13 after setting himself ablaze at his residence in Pochamma Basti. He was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where he died on Friday night. According to Humayun Nagar police, Rajesh had asked for Rs 100/- from his mother Yadamma to consume liquor. On refusal, he resorted to the extreme step.

Addiction leads to desperation-if not fulfilled can lead to extreme thoughts and action.
