In separate cases, two housewives committed suicide due to different reasons.

In Balanagar police limits, E Geetha, 29, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Girinagar on Thursday night. She resorted to the extreme step after having an argument with her husband Ratna Raju over some trivial family matter.

In another case, 30-year-old Malika Sultana, succumbed to the burn injuries which she suffered on January 14 after setting herself ablaze. She took the extreme step at her residence in Shaheen Nagar and died at the Osmania General Hospital on Thursday night while undergoing treatment. According to Pahadishareef police, Sultana was married to Md Ilyas about seven years ago and had no children. The same is suspected to have driven her to suicide. (INN)
