A 48-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling in the Saroornagar police limits.

The deceased, D Lavanya, took the extreme step at her residence in Reddy Colony of Champapet on Sunday night. Financial problems are suspected to have driven Lavanya to suicide, according to police.

In another case, M Oshaiaha, 42, died of burn injuries which he sustained after setting himself ablaze. He took the extreme step on Sunday at his residence in Bharat Nagar near Jiyaguda. He died at the Osmania General Hospital a few hours after admission. The reasons that drove him to suicide are yet to be ascertained, Kulsumpura police said. (INN)
